about

tom reads useless magazines privately every tuesday As a western musician educated in the tradition of well (or worst) tempered music, I am a bit sceptical as to whether one may be able to hear microtonal music as such, and not as out of tune tempered music. For this reason I try to use microintervals in a way that one may become aware of the fact that we always hear by comparing what we are currently hearing with what we have heard before (the same way we see, think, love or hate). Therefore, for this piece I have selected a number of pitch structures with common notes, through which “modulations” take place.
